Intel's Apollo Lake Hopes to create Budget PCs More Effective. |
Speaking in the Intel Developers Forum in Shenzhen a week ago, Intel revealed that it is going to launch Apollo Lake, a system-on-a-chip which will deliver more power as well as efficiency to cheap Computers. The idea, according in order to Intel, is to have the ability to add features customers find in higher-end products, like 4K video playback as well as USB-C, to cheap notebook computers and desktops.
Intel really wants to make the chip small and efficient and more affordable than its current standing of budget chips. Additionally, the chip will be lent technologies from its higher-end Skylake processors to create it more powerful. The price savings, combined with energy improvements, allow for a much better all-around PC, Intel argues.
Still, Intel is keeping it's plans for Apollo Lake near to the vest. The company has yet to say what type of clock speeds vendors can get from its processor collection, and hasn't said be it signed on too many vendors at this time.
