LG: will invest in technology for robot



The LG Electronics prepares large investments in technologies relating to robot. Aim the exploitation of artificial intelligence which is likely to lead to machines that make daily human work.

The report comes from the Reuters and says the first part devices in the South Korean company will be involved in this piece so as to create products which will cooperate with household appliances such as refrigerators, washing machines or air conditioners.

A statement of the head of household appliances the LG, Jo Seung-Jin, says "will prepare for the future by investing aggressively in smart home, the robot and in key areas, by strengthening the capabilities of household appliances us".


Progress in areas such as artificial intelligence and wireless communications allow more sophisticated machines that can talk to each other via the Internet and to perform more complex operations. Countries throughout the world are investing heavily in robotics with hope to develop a new industry or dealing with socio-economic problems such as the low birth rate or the aging of the population with the import machinery which can serve the people as cooks, bellmen or workers.

The LG did not elaborate on how it plans to invest or when it is expected to see the first robotic products, but the company announced that it is investigating a variety of options through the combination of technologies, including the autonomous driving and artificial intelligence.
